Traditional Trash-Blues, Speed Boogie, Stomps, Jump, Old-time New Orleans Jazz & Ragtime, Yazoo Mambo et Delta Mud sont les standards du répertoire de Jeff Zima, le plus étonnant guitariste de Blues installé sur le vieux continent. C'est dans les rues de New Orleans qu’il « s'est fait les dents », aux côtés d'un maître du genre, Augie Rodolla et son groupe légendaire THE BIG MESS BLUES BAND. Pendant plusieurs années, Jeff Zima a sillonné les routes de la ligne New Orleans – Chicago, jouant dans les rues de nombreuses villes dont Greenville (Mississippi), Helena (Arkansas) et Memphis (Tennessee). Il a débarqué en France en 1990 avec le groupe PIGMEAT et depuis, a participé à plusieurs formations de qualité : THE GLORY HOGS, THE BIG MESS BLUES BAND, PIG MAMA et SPITBALL JONES AND THE BACKWASH BLUES BAND. Dix-huit ans et plus d’un millier de concerts plus tard, Jeff Zima joue sa propre musique, toujours en compagnie de sa vieille guitare, de son doigt de laiton et le pied en béton. Avec plus de 300 chansons en poche de tous styles, de New Orleans à Chicago, des années 20 jusqu'aux années 50, de Bessie Smith et Muddy Waters à Louis Jordan, Ma Rainey, Howlin'Wolf, Leadbelly, Elmore James, Robert Johnson et Hound Dog Taylor, sans oublier ses compositions, Jeff ZIMA nous fait « respirer » son blues avec une passion dévorante.
